Tanya Lewanowitsch started her career with a PhD in Pharmacololgy from the University of Adelaide and proceeded with research projects as diverse as treatments for drug abuse, cyanobacteria toxicity and colorectal cancer biomarker discovery.  

She was then exposed to bioprocessing and found her passion in developing biopharma products that have global impact.  Having held positions on both the customer and vendor side, she has been involved in numerous projects across Asia, providing hardware application support as well as gaining process and facility design, build and commissioning experience.  

She is currently the Head of the Investment Projects team in Asia Pacific (excluding China) at Merck Life Sciences where she continues to help customers realise their visions of scaling up to commercial GMP manufacturing.
