Shielden Cabrera brings with her over 20 years of valuable experience with respect to laboratory operations, equipment commissioning and qualifications, validations, data integrity and engineering operations. She currently serves as the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T) Validation Lead at Alcon Manufacturing and Logistics and has also led the implementation of paperless CQV in 2021.

 Since joining Alcon in 2012, Shielden has progressed across the different areas of the organization: Quality Control Laboratories, Analytical Science and Technology (AS&T), Quality Projects, Engineering and MS&T. She has accomplished key projects valuable to the company such as streamlining equipment qualification approach, establishing Data Integrity training framework, and reducing equipment relocation time through risk-based approach with minimum disruption to the operation. 

Prior to joining Alcon, she led in a pre-clinical research laboratory setting-up the formulation and clinical laboratories as well as getting them GLP certified. She has also worked in a testing laboratory where she initially laid the foundation for ISO 17025 certification. Shielden earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry (Cum Laude) from Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
