Dr. Songpon Deechongkit is the first employee and the first Managing Director of Siam Bioscience.  Since 2009, Dr. Songpon and multi-disciplinary team set up Siam Bioscience R&D program, build manufacturing capabilities from green field, and established partnerships with biopharmaceuticals and medical diagnostics.  These efforts culminated in the establishment and advancement of Siam Bioscience whose mission is to enable more accessibility to high quality medicines, effective treatment, and prevention for people of Thailand and beyond.

 

Dr. Songpon received a B.Sc. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, MA) and the Ph.D. from The Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, CA).   He then joined Amgen, Inc., in charge of development of various biopharmaceuticals. He has almost 30 publications in journals and book chapters such as Nature, Science, and Advances in Protein Chemistry.
